Nottingham, Maryland – Gary Barth, a dedicated educator and baseball coach, passed away on February 18, 2025, at the age of 59.

He was known for his unwavering love for his family, his strong Christian faith, and his passion for teaching and coaching.

Gary was a cherished husband to Marcell "Marcie" Barth, with whom he shared 19 years of marriage. He was the proud father of Alexandra Elizabeth Ciola, Olivia Butterfield and her husband James, and Jamie Ciola and his partner Madison Smith. As a grandfather, he found immense joy in his role as "Poppi" to his grandchildren: Jayden "Jayde" Alidia, Dezi Townsend, Kaulder Butterfield, Jasper Butterfield, and Xander Butterfield.

In his professional life, Gary was an inspiring teacher at Baltimore Lutheran School, now known as Concordia Preparatory School, where he made math both fun and meaningful for generations of students. He was also a devoted baseball coach, sharing his love of the game with his students and grandchildren.

Gary’s legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and a deep commitment to his community. His family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.

His granddaughter, Jayden Alidia, posted on Facebook, saying, "Thank you for all the love and prayers, our family is truly blessed to have all of your support."
