Toms River, New Jersey – Craig Parson, a 72-year-old resident of Toms River, tragically passed away on the evening of February 18, 2025, after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Fischer Boulevard near Hazelwood Road.

Parson was crossing the roadway with 68-year-old Debra Wright, a fellow Toms River resident, when the incident occurred at approximately 6:55 p.m. Both individuals were transported to Community Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead from their injuries.

The driver involved, 18-year-old Sholto Roach of Toms River, was traveling northbound on Fischer Boulevard when he struck Parson and Wright. Roach sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene. Police have not yet released information regarding the specific circumstances of the crash, including speed or visibility factors.

Toms River residents have expressed their condolences on social media, with one community member, Brianna Parson, saying, "They're my grandparents," in reference to the tragic loss.
